Color

I usually stick to neutrals and black with the occasional pattern but today is one of those days that what I pieced together at 6:30am really came together! I wore an orange tube dress with a teal cardigan and brown leather jacket and finished the look with tan socks and strappy patten lather sandals. Something about liking what you have one really makes the day a little brighter!

Denim on Denim

This trend is usually reserved for Kelly Kaposwki but lately I find myself into it. I found a great snap closure shirt from Walmart ($10) and paired with grey skinny jeans I was surprised to find this look modern not 80s.

Summer Booties

Usually boots are reserved for winter but booties allow for wear year round. These are some of my favorites!

Boot-Cut Jeans

I rarely pull out my old jeans, especially since I find myself only looking at skinny jeans these days but I decided to revive a pair of express editor pants in denim. I actually share these with my friend Christi dating back to sharing a house and closet with her in New York.

Studded Skirt

I found this black studded skirt at H&M in the sale section and thought one day I would find a use for it. Today was the day, since its fairly tight I paired it with a loose fitting silk blouse and white blazer. I finished the look with my nude sandals keeping a fairly neutral palette.

Reversible

I don't typically find reversible clothes, especially since I am not in children's clothes but sometimes it can be a great surprise. Case in point my racerback floral dress. The patterns are different enough to work as two dresses and styled differently, it could be undetectable.

Fedoras

I am a huge fan of hats, especially Saturday morning when you rush out of the house to brunch and there is no time for fix your hair. These are some of my favorites!

Denim Leggings

I have been searching for a great pair of super skinny jeans or denim leggings and the winner is: Old Navy. They come in a few colors so I now own black and grey. They are super comfortable and hit just at my ankle without being hemmed. These will absolutely become a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe and they come at a bargin, only $25.

Animal Rings

As I was grabbing some jewelry running out the door for work I realized...they are all animals. Apparently I love animal rings! I found these gems for a bargain at target and forever 21, none of them were more than $8!! They add that extra bit of interest to your hand and the rhinestones are perfect at night.

Vintage Sweater

I LOVED to play dress up as a child! I would change clothes 5 times a day, its one of my best memories. Lately when I go home to my parents house I go through my boxes of dress up clothes and have found quite a few gems. One of which is a green short-sleeved sweater. The green color is so beautiful and it fits perfectly.

Closet

I am new to the iphone which probably makes me a lot less cool but I am ok with that! Anyway the greatest app maybe ever is Closet. You can organize all your clothes and shoes and even plan what you will pack for trips! It also tracks what you wear everyday and will suggest outfits based on your wardrobe! I could spend hours organizing and photographing, its definitely worth a download!!

The District of Columbia

I am flying to DC today, what a great city! Every time I am there its a great experience, the buildings the food the atmosphere!
Flying is always hard for me because its always freezing on the plane, so I decided a tank and shorts with a blazer was safe. Since shoe removal in security is always super gross and socks certainly slow down the process, I finished the look with brown oxford flats.

Nude Pumps

I have been searching everywhere for just the right affordable wear everyday pair and finally I found them! Steve Madden makes great inexpensive pumps and this color is just what I was looking for!! They will go with anything, day or night.

Florals

I tend to wear more solids and mostly black but occasionally I want to wear something girly-enter floral skirt. I love the bright colors and don't have to steer too far from all black.

How To: Mirrors

I really like the look of stacked thin mirrors, however I don't have an unlimited budget to furnish my new house. So while in Target the other day I saw the thin over-the-door mirrors for college dorms and decided to try them. I found two with thicker black frames and proceeded to the framing section for hanging hardware.

I measured out equal spacing on the back of each mirror and tacked in the little hanging hooks. A few nails in the wall with the use of my laser level and my $10 mirrors were complete!

Home Sweet Home

Tonight was the first night in my new house! I finally finished putting things away, I will spare everyone pictures of the mess and promise to have pics of the whole place this week!

Airport Travel

Today was one of those days....I took a half day off of work to fly home for my cousins wedding and pretty much nothing went right! I had to take a cab to Marta, that took longer than expected, ran into the airport with 10 min to spare to find my flight delayed. Delayed turned into canceled and from there you can imagine the insanity since it was the last flight of the day! Needless to say I was totally disappointed when I got back on Marta to go home until my flight the next morning. And without fail it started to pour leaving me standing in the rain waiting on a ride. Since I was heading to the rehearsal dinner I was in bright pink heels and a pink silk tank and skinny black jeans, NOT the best attire for a rain storm but would have been great for the barbecue!

Summer Day Drinking

There is nothing better than a beautiful sunny summer day, so we decided to enjoy it. The say started at Park's Edge with bottomless mimosas and eggs benedict. Brilliant! Then onto The King of Pops. I am a huge supporter of local venues and handmade anything. At the bargain price of $2.50 and Arnold Palmer Popsicle was delish! From there we made our way to Pozole for chips and queso and a Mango marg. From there we headed to Treehouse for beers and dinner. Amazing cobb salad and then home for a little nap!

New Apt

Today was the day I officially signed a new lease... Scary but exciting! I love the challenge of designing a new space and getting new bargains! I won't actually move until the weekend but I already have the space all planned out. The best part is Henry will finally have a yard to play in :)

Engagement Cookout

Friday night I hosted(with my friend Ashley) an engagement cookout, despite Atlanta's unusually hot weather. We grilled out by the pool at a friends apt so we prepared sliders and sangria from recipe's I have been wanting to try from my two favorite chefs on the Food Network, they turned out amazing!! The sliders were super easy and had everyone seemed to enjoy them. And the sangria was so beautiful with all the fresh fruit.

Happy Shark Week

I am not scared to admit I LOVE sharks, so fascinating!!! I wait all summer for this week of new shows featuring my favorite underwater swimmers. I recently took my mom the Georgia Aquarium, the only super touristy thing I like to do in Atlanta and these are the pics, happy shark week!
