Maxi Skirts

I am not really tall enough to pull these off but that doesn't really stop me from trying. I love the rich brown color of this skirt and I usually wear it with a swim suit but decided to try it for work. I paired the grey tshirt and brown skirt with studded tan wedges to add back a little height.

Moving Checklist

I am about to move to a new house, well the house isn't new but more new to me, and there are tons of people to notify and address to change etc. Here is my list: Power, Cable, Bank, Work, Magazine subscriptions, Doctor, USPS, Phone, Credit Card, Drivers License, Insurance, and the list keeps growing!

Graphic Ts

I love graphic tshirts as long as they are funny, not sparkly or studded, just distressed or vintage. I have found that sometimes you can find great Ts at Walmrt and Target. Granted they have tons of terrible ones too so you have to be patient and just check in when you are shopping for light bulbs or muffin tins. These are some of my favorites!

Dinner at Noon

Tonight was dinner with 2 of my best friends in ATL at Noon Midtown, I have to say AMAZING! Such a good time to catch up with friends and eat the most delicious beef tenderloin! It is such a treat to eat food you absolutely not capable of making for yourself, ha!

Chocolate Mousse

In an effort to prevent myself from being the "fat bridesmaid in a little dress" at my sisters wedding in Nov I am limiting my carb intake. But I desperately miss something sweet after dinner! So my mom suggested this delightful little dessert that totally does the trick!

Mix 1/3 cup of cool whip, 1/4 teaspoon of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder and I splenda packet and stir!





As you can see it was delicious!

Leather in the Summer

Sometimes I like to wear completely contrasting seasons. Today - leather jacket and satin wrap sandals paired with a white summer dress.

Meet Henry

My sweet boy Henry is my little rescue dog! He is a 4 yr old Min Pin/Chihuahua mix, with more personality than most people. He hides under blankets, is super stylish (he loves to be dressed up) and everyone he meets falls in love with him! I have to give him credit for any exercise I get as he really enjoys a long afternoon walk.

Rodarte

Rodarte recently created a line for Target and I was really excited to pick up a few key pieces. I got a fantastic dress for a wedding, a detailed skirt for work and my favorite piece-jean shorts with a braid detail at the waist. I love these shorts, the tailored finishing touches make them ideal for work this summer. They are a little big which I also like and they are long enough to be slightly more dressy.

Neutrals

Leggings, I seriously I don't know how I would dress for work with out them! I am also a big fan of mixing neutrals, today I paired textured grey leggings with a white T and black satin blazer and finished it off with tan sandals. Even though there is not pattern the mix of colors adds enough interest.

Casual Monday

Sometimes on Monday morning I am not completely motivated to choose something exciting to wear to work, so this monday I went for relaxed. A plaid flannel button down and black shorts. Black patten-leather pumps dressed it up just enough to stay profesh for work!

Ashley's Engagement

Congrats to my friend Ash on her engagement tonight!! We made a quick stop by her fiance's apt to help her pick out something to wear - or so I thought - and she surprised me with her ring!! I couldn't be happier for the two of them and her ring is just beautiful! We celebrated with champagne and then headed to dinner at a new seafood restaurant, Coast.

Bottle Bar

One of my very best friends from home recently got engaged so we decided to have a drink to celebrate at Bottle Bar. I have been wanting to try it out since it opened around the corner. It was a great after-work drink place! The modern trendy decor and outside seating provided a great environment to chat without being in a crowded bar. Since the weather was beautiful we sat outside under fans making my decision to wear a bright lemon tube tube and a green and white vintage pattern skirt a wise decision.

Wednesday Night Dinner

What is better than dinner with old friends—college friends. A good friend from college was in town visiting from Australia and we decided sushi was in order. I heart sushi and it is always presented so beautifully.

Zac Posen for Target

I LOVE when designers create an inexpensive line for Target, so needless to say I was super excited to find this detailed little blazer. The stitching and detail on the sleeves and the subtle hints of blue make this a great year round , wear with anything piece!

Shirts as Dresses

Over the weekend I went to a moving out party at a house in the highlands, since it was a party I felt like dressing up a little but didn't want to be too cocktail. This was the perfect opportunity to wear my latest "gem" from Target - a sequin t shirt. Its a few sizes too big for me so it worked perfectly as a little dress. The soft pink hue with iridescent sequins was just enough and I paired it with a pair of bright pink sling back heels.

Lots of Pearls

Lately I have been really into layering necklaces, so I decided to put on possibly every pearl necklace I own. I wore a simple dress to keep form looking too over the top and added leopard shoes for an extra layer of pattern.

A little about me...

I figured one of my first posts should be a little about me... I may be an 80 year old woman trapped in a young body. Or I have a great love and appreciation for all things vintage and unique, among these are teacups & saucers and silk night gowns. I have a fabulous collection of teacups & saucers because I only drink tea, I love all the gold work and the intricate detail. I never have more than alike. I mostly get them as gifts but I find the best ones at antique stores or flea markets.




And the nightgowns, its really all nightgowns and it started with a pink one from my mom. From there the collection just started growing! My latest is an adorable floral dress(with built-in bra) from Liberty of London's Target collection. It is perfect! And a definite steal-I am a huge fan of Targets new designer collections!
