Antique/Vintage Shopping

On a recent trip home my mom and went to two of our favorite antique/vintage stores. They are a great escape and source of creativity for both of us and I try to go with her whenever I get home (which I can't say is too often...)

I totally heart vintage jewelry and clothes, there is something amazing about giving beautiful pieces new life!




And I always look for pieces for my house, not really the current house since its kind of like a frat house, more for a future house:

This would make amazing seating in a kitchen


I would LOVE to use in a walk-in closet for jewelry


My current living room would finally be complete with this amazing lighting


Stacked chests make great end tables and provide much needed storage


One day when I have a foyer... I will have a beautiful painted chest like this to greet people


These would have made an excellent addition to my tea cup collection, the detail on the handle is exquisite


This fantastic lamp is currently at my parents house being rewired by my sweet dad !

And last but not least, a powder blue table that would make a perfect desk

A Little List

I always see interesting things reading blogs or magazines and think to myself that is awesome or that would be a great gift...

What to Wear With...

Yesterday a friend asked for advice on what to pair her cream one shoulder mini dress with for a cocktail party? My suggestion (budget friendly and things you could run into a mall and grab last minute) is below:


Feather earrings add a little movement and texture and a black leather bootie adds just enough material to balance the short dress and keep it classy. I would also have suggested tights too but I don't usually get a yes to that...

I gave it my all yesterday to watch the show live and saw some here and there, unfortunately work gets in the way of my personal interest... However the collection was amazing! The forties vibe was perfection, socks with heels and converse with suits were amazing. I am definitely a fan of the longer calf length full skirt, far more flattering! Below are my favorite looks (yeah there were a ton):

A Taste of Spring

Sunday was 65 degrees and gorgeous, dare I say almost spring-like (especially since I actually got a little sun on my face). We decided to have brunch outside



and the meal started with 2 and grew to 4.



I had the most amazing mimosa and crab enchilada maybe ever and truly embraced the opportunity to wear a sleeveless blouse and cropped workout pants in February!








The day continued with some vintage shopping in Little 5 and cookies to benefit the homeless from this guy:

A Day For Love

Most people have a strong opinion of Valentine's Day, either extreme dislike or unashamed excitement. I find myself somewhere in the middle and try to see the day as a moment to appreciate the amazing people in my life and they love they give in whatever way they can.

We decided on dinner and chocolate. I mean what is better than tacos and martinis...


The artistry in this mint chocolate chip martini was so beautiful!

Todays Look: Vintage Skirt

As a child I placed dress up for HOURS, loved it! I would have fashion shows and talks shows (yes there is video of this..) and always created something original from my my olds clothes. I went through my "dress up box" when I was home last and found this little gem just waiting for another chance. Its a little snug but the silhouette is amazing! I paired it with a denim button-down and black gladiator heels.
