One of my favorite mags is Marie Claire, and I love tearing out looks for inspiration. Today's look is my take on a Caroline Sieber. A spring blouse, long black shorts and nude sandals:

Handmade Birthday Cards
There is a definite charm to receiving something handmade, its much more personal and thoughtful. What better opportunity to create something than a birthday card. And there is no need for art school, just a sharpie white or light gray chalk and a printed design.
Print out the name/shape/design and flip it over. Using the chalk, lightly shade the back of the design.
Flip the paper and place on your card (you can tape it down to keep it from sliding) and with a thin-tipped pen trace your design, the chalk will leave a faint stencil.
Fill in with black marker (permanent works best) and you're done!

Today's Look: Thrifted Jacket
I love a successful trip to a thrift store, which makes this jacket find even better because its purchase supports Penelope House, a non-profit organization that helps victims of domestic violence. I am such a fan the bold color of this jacket and the cropped, cuffed sleeve is perfect for this time of year. Paired with eyelet-trimmed black shorts and a simple white button down and black mary janes, I kept the pallet simple so the jacket could be the focus.

Homemade Brunch
There is nothing better than a weekend home with my parents to recharge and relax! I am super lucky to have such amazing parents and its definitely a bonus they can cook!
Yesterday we had a homemade brunch outside to capture the ideal Spring weather. Egg and grits casserole, tomato and zucchini bake, pistachio bread, cheesecake parfait with fresh strawberries and granola. Finished with English breakfast tea and a Bloody Mary. This combination, a gorgeous Spring day and the company were perfect!
